WASHINGTON -- Congressman Erik Paulsen (MN-03) today issued the following statement after the President tweeted this morning that “Republicans should stop wasting their time on immigration” until after the midterm elections in November:

“President Trump is wrong,” said Paulsen. “Congress needs to act now. Unlike the President, I won’t give up on giving DACA recipients certainty and ensuring we’re never separating kids from their parents at the border again. I signed a discharge petition to force this debate, over the objection of many in my own party, because it’s critical that we finally take action to address these issues. I will continue to work with my colleagues to get the votes to pass common-sense immigration reform.”
